Inchcape is to close its Lexus dealership in Norwich within a fortnight, it has confirmed.

The dealer group said the closure was a mutual decision of Inchcape and Lexus.

It is the only Lexus dealership in Norfolk. Inchcape represents the Japanese premium brand at four other sites.

The Lexus branch on Reepham Road will cease its operations on the site, with staff being transferred elsewhere where possible.

Customers are being informed of the closure. Their nearest alternative Lexus centres are in Cambridge, owned by Turner Group, or Ipswich, recent bought by Jardine Motors.

Inchcape still runs BMW and Land Rover dealerships in the Norwich area and staff will be redeployed.

The group said earlier this year it would close a number of underperforming businesses.
