SsangYong has been releasing a steady drip feed of news leading up to its relaunch next month and the Korean brand has revealed a first look at a new compact crossover concept which will go on sale in the UK in 2013.

The XUV 1 concept will make its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show on September 13 and will mix the compactness of a B-segment vehicle with the high seating position of an SUV. It also displays SsangYong's latest design direction for future models.

SsangYong describes the seating layouts for the concept as flexible, with a fixed driver’s seat and then configurations of 1+1+2 or 1+3. All major cabin functions are controlled via mobile devices and smart instruments.
