Liz Grindall has been promoted at Mondial Assistance UK as the insurer restructures its organisation.

Mondial Assistance UK, which works with carmakers from BMW to Volvo, is undergoing a strategic restructure as it prepares to become Allianz Global Assistance in the UK on October 1.

Grindall has been promoted from warranty manager to head of warranty and F&I within its automotive operation.

Her team has recently delivered new product lines including MoT and tyre insurance and is about to launch a cosmetic repair offering.

She reports to Lee Taylor, previously the automotive sales director, who has become chief sales officer resposible for automotive, travel and health operations.

Jon Burgess will continue as head of automotive business development, and Jon Tolliday remains as head of major automotive accounts, both reporting to Taylor.

Serge Corel, CEO of Mondial Assistance in the UK said: "The new structure of the department builds on our existing foundations, with a focus on a collaborative approach to driving the business and potential opportunities over the months ahead.

"It is essential that we maintain and develop our diverse existing client portfolio, whilst looking for additional opportunities to expand product lines.

"Furthermore the entry into new markets and in turn acquiring new clients is essential as part of our Group’s wider ambition for 2015. This will be something that will be a top priority as we migrate to Allianz Global Assistance.”
