Harratts, the family-owned motor group, is sponsoring the Wakefield Hospice 10k City Road Race and Fun Run for the 12th year in a row.

The Wakefield-based company, which has 13 dealerships and employs 300 people across Yorkshire, will be present on the day at Clarence Park, providing runners with support on the 10k route. The group raised over £40,000 for the hospice at last year's event.

In addition to backing those raising funds for the Wakefield Hospice, Harratts will also be showcasing the Renault Twizy. The Twizy will also be used as part of a “guess the amount of balloons” competition for competitors and attendees, which should be quite easy due to the size of the vehicle. Each guess will raise £1 for Wakefield Hospice and the winner will get a £500 cash prize.

Shaun Harratt, Harratts managing director, said: “As long-time supporters, we know the Wakefield Hospice provides essential care and support to patients and families in the area.

“The Road Race and Fun Run is a great day out for all and will raise much-needed funds for an extremely worthy local cause.

“Many of the Harratts’ team will be present on the day, offering logistical support to the organisers and encouragement to those runners taking part.”
