Trader Media Group (TMG) has appointed Trevor Mather as its new chief executive officer.

He will take up his new position at Trader Media Group in June. In the meantime Zillah Byng-Maddick will continue as interim CEO.

Mather is currently president and CEO of ThoughtWorks, the global IT consultancy with 27 offices in 11 countries.

The appointment at TMG follows on from Craig Stevens' departure from the business last week.

Mather studied aeronautics and astronautics at Southampton University before joining British Aerospace. After leaving engineering positions he worked at consultancy group Accenture for 10 years to provide IT solutions for finance services companies.

Mather helped to start ThoughtWorks in 2002 and became CEO in 2006.
