Glass’s has appointed of Ian Tilbrook as its new managing director, starting on April 15.

He spent 10 years as managing director of the ING Bank Group subsidiary, ING Car Lease UK.

Following ING Group’s sale of its European car leasing activities to BMW AG in October 2011, Tilbrook was responsible for the integration of BMW’s Alphabet business with ING Car Lease in the UK and France.

He also held roles with LeasePlan Corporation NV and LeasePlan UK, and in 2006 was elected Chairman of the British Vehicle Leasing Association’s leasing and fleet management board.

Tilbrook said: “I’m delighted to be joining Glass’s. My passion for customer service and product innovation has driven my career, and Glass’s vision to produce the best innovations for its customers make us a perfect fit. I’m looking forward to getting to grips with the challenges that lie ahead and helping to drive the business forward.”

Tilbrook replaces Michael Bergmann, who has been promoted to the position of European managing director, responsible for all country organisations of the Eurotax Glass’s Group.

Bergmann said: “Glass’s has undergone extensive change in the past 18 months to reflect an evolving market and meet our customer needs. I have no doubt that Ian’s experience and leadership will be invaluable to Glass’s in its continued drive to innovate and to become the leading source of automotive data in the UK market. I very much look forward to working with Ian in the years to come.”
