Lexus, Subaru and Toyota have claimed the top three places as the best dealer networks for overall service in the UK according to the latest Auto Express Driver Power Survey 2013.

Lexus scored a 91.67% overall satisfaction rating, while Subaru and Toyota scored 89.28% and 89.75% respectively.

Subaru improved its position from 8th place last year and Toyota dropped one place from second place to third. Mitsubishi and Renault both made it into the top 10.

Seat was in last place with a satisfaction rating of 80.29%, a drop from 28th place last year.

Auto Express said the survey was based on “tens of thousands” of reader responses.

The biggest complaint for all dealers was the inability to identify the fault with a car. It was raised as the main concern for 21 out of the 31 manufacturers included. Unanswered phone calls were the main problem for the remaining manufacturers.

Franchised dealers represented 66% of respondents, with independents making up 24%, specialist independents 5% and DIY at 5%.
