Tesla has opened its fourth showroom in the UK 12 months after its first launched at London's Westfield Shopping Centre.

Tesla Birmingham, the electric car brand's fourth retail store and service centre, is located in a former Stratstone Saab showroom at High Street, Digbeth and will serve potential customers and existing Model S owners in the Midlands.

It features a Model S design studio, a four-bay service area and a purpose-built handover bay.

More store openings are set to follow rapidly. Tesla is currently recruiting for sites in Manchester, Bristol, Newcastle and Edinburgh.

Tesla has also continued to install more "Supercharger" rapid charging points in the UK, which are used free of charge by buyers of any Tesla except the base model car.

There are now six Supercharging sites open. Within the next six months, Tesla says, Model S drivers will be able to drive the length of the UK relying only on Superchargers.
