A business manager who headbutted a colleague at Perth Honda has been fined £500.

Christopher Dolan damaged salesman Graham Mitchell’s nose in the car showroom attack last December, Perth Sheriff Court was told.

The court was told that Dolan, of Tayview Drive, Liff, had been suspended as a result and subsequently resigned from his post with the Dunkeld Road Honda dealership, part of West End Garage Group.

Dolan admitted the assault.

Perth Sheriff Court was told that he was now working as a car salesman, earning around £10,000 a year less than he had been as part of the Honda management team.

Depute fiscal Rebecca Kynaston told the court an argument ensued between Mitchell and the Dolan, and after Mitchell said something along the lines of ‘maybe he should keep his nose out of it’ Dolan walked towards Mitchell and, without warning, headbutted him once on the face.

Mitchell did not retaliate but informed his supervisor, and went to the bathroom as his nose was bleeding, said Kynaston.

Solicitor Graham Harding, defending, said there had been tensions between the two over a period of time, but Dolan has expressed genuine remorse for his actions and contacted the complainer by text to express his sincere apologies.

Harding told the court Dolan had raised thousands of pounds for charity and had two children under the age of two, reported local newspaper The Courier.
