Spoticar, a Europe-wide used car brand, is set to launch in the UK in early 2020.

It is the new single brand for used car sales across the PSA Group brands Peugeot, Citroen, DS and Vauxhall, bringing together the previous Network Q, Citroen Select and Peugeot Lion approved used car programmes.

The brands' dealer networks will be supported with digital marketing, apps and point of sale material.

In France, where it has been operating since May, Spoticar has a dedicated website which also displays other marques offered for sale by PSA's dealer networks, a part-exchange valuation function, and used car buyers are provided one year’s free maintenance and a satisfaction guarantee.

“We want to disrupt some of the major internet used car brands. We work with them, but they’re expensive. So we’ve got to do better on used than we do today,” Citroen UK managing director Karl Howkins told AM recently.

He said that although the new car market is in decline, there are still around eight million used car transactions in the UK each year, and this is a real opportunity for franchised dealers.

"We need to work harder in used cars and own more of the market than we do,” said Howkins.

Marc Lechantre, PSA's used vehicle business unit vice president, said Spoticar is establising PSA as a multi-brand used vehicle operator.

"The new offering will create a stress-free experience for customers, whether they want to buy their used car online, at a dealership ot have it delivered directly to their door," said Lechantre.
