Lancashire motor group Bowker’s new BMW Motorrad motorcycle dealership will open on Preston docks in September, creating 10 new jobs.

The new dealership - Bowker motor group’s 10th - will be known as Bowker Motorrad. The business is currently trading as Southport Superbikes which was acquired by Bowker last year.

The 13,000 square feet building will include a ground floor showroom for more than 40 bikes at the Preston docklands gateway location; opposite Bowker Mini and Bowker BMW on Riversway.

The new dealership will take the total footprint of Bowker Motor Group buildings on the docks to more than six acres; including Bowker Mini and Bowker BMW.

Bowker Motor Group, chief executive Paul Bowker, said: “The building will be seen by thousands of Prestonians every day and have a massive impact on the landmark Preston site."

Bowker Motorrad head of business Geraldine Bowers-Lyon said: “It’s good news for North West motorcycle enthusiasts too. We are opening one of the most modern dealerships in the country. This will offer even more support, choice and inspiration for old and new motorcycling adventurers in the region.”

The first floor of the building will become an administrative headquarters and hub for Bowker Motor Group. The suite of offices will house group directors, trainers and marketeers.

The building also includes showers for employees who cycle to work.
