AM100 car dealer Lookers has today announced it has expanded its Jaguar representation by acquiring the Amersham business from Jardine Motors Group.

The purchase, for an undisclosed price, brings to five the total number of standalone Jaguar businesses operated by Manchester-based Lookers.

Amersham Jaguar (pictured), in London Road, to the northwest of Watford and London, is a “strategic addition” to Lookers’ wider Jaguar and Land Rover network in the UK, the company said.

Lookers currently operates an established Jaguar business at Charles Hurst Jaguar Belfast, at Lookers Jaguar Park Royal and at key sites in Glasgow and Motherwell through its wholly-owned Taggarts Motor Group subsidiary.

Lookers also has a substantial Land Rover business in the UK, operating from 10 locations.

Lookers’ chief executive Andy Bruce said: “Amersham Jaguar is a well-known and well-respected business with a reputation for delivering quality customer service to its significant Jaguar customer base for this iconic, premium and innovative brand.

“This acquisition demonstrates our commitment to Jaguar, to the staff who we warmly welcome to Lookers, and to our new customers who we look forward to embracing as our ‘customers for life’.”

Gordon Haining, franchise director, Jaguar and Land Rover, said: “This latest expansion marks another major milestone in the continued development of our Jaguar and Land Rover business in the UK and Ireland and the delivery of an unrivalled customer experience for two of the world’s most popular, premium brands which continue to win over new customers with their design, quality and innovative technology.

In December 2014, Lookers opened a multi-million pound Land Rover showroom in Battersea, creating 30 jobs. The site was the first Land Rover facility of its kind to be built in the UK.
