Suzuki, Ray Sommerville and Emac were winners at the fourth annual National Franchised Dealers Ball on Saturday.

Held at the Grove Hotel in Hertfordshire, compere Rory Bremner presented the NFDA award for industry partner to service plan provider Emac – collected by managing director Angela Barrow – and the manufacturer award to Suzuki GB, which was collected by sales and marketing director Dale Wyatt.

Emac was recognised for its “combined commitment to supporting the motor retail industry and the NFDA” and Suzuki for its strong standing in the latest NFDA Dealer Attitude Survey.

And the recipient of the special recognition award was former Perrys Motor Sales’ managing director Ray Sommerville, who retired in June. Reading the citation and presenting the award was Peter Jones, NFDA chairman.

Sue Robinson, NFDA director, said “The 2015 NFDA Autumn Ball and awards was a deserved salute to a sector whose high levels of expertise and skills go unacknowledged far too often.

“Congratulations to all the winners. They are all greatly deserving of these accolades.”

Table donations to sector charity BEN topped £3,270.
