MG is set to add John Stuart Motor Company to its franchised dealer network as it continues to fill its UK open points.

The used car superstore on Orford Lane, Warrington, will officially join MG Motors’ franchised dealer network in May, according to the Warrington Guardian.

A spokesman for the business said: "We have chosen this dealership in Warrington to sell MG cars because it covers a key open point for us.

"They are also an exciting business that shares the same ethos as MG and we believe that the people of Warrington will like the MG cars."

Wolverhampton-based Bunning Garages was named as latest addition to the MG franchise late last month.

MG Motor UK is aiming to fill a number of open points during 2016, following 35% of growth in 2015.

The car manufacturer enjoyed the most successful year since MG was re-born last year with more than 3,000 registrations surpassing its 2013 and 2014 registrations combined.

Matthew Cheyne, MG’s head of sales and marketing, said: “We’ve got a product development plan for each year until 2020, so it’s an exciting time to consider joining us.

“We’re currently looking to fill open points around Manchester, Liverpool, Nottingham and Southampton, amongst many other areas, so if you’re a dealer and you want to talk about us working with a car manufacturer that is far from dictatorial then please get in touch.”

MG Motor UK currently markets the MG3 hatchback and MG6 saloon in the UK, but has new model plans, including the introduction of the Nissan Qashqai-rivalling MG GS SUV in 2016.
