Construction is underway to develop Parks of Hamilton’s new Jaguar Land Rover facility in Ayr.

The joint franchise, built under JLR’s new Arch Concept corporate identity, is being developed by building contractor CCG (Scotland) Ltd and is expected to create 50 new jobs for the region.

Occupying a site adjacent to the company’s current showroom on the corner of Heathfield Road and Lochfield Road, the creation of the new facility follows Parks’ partnership with CCG to develop what was Scotland’s first dedicated McLaren showroom, in Glasgow, back in 2014.

Calum Murray, director of CCG (Scotland) Ltd, said: “It is a real privilege to continue our work with Park’s Motor Group as we get this state-of-the-art site underway.

“The new showroom has been designed with exceptional aesthetic merit and the end result will offer customers an immersive experience of the Jaguar and Land Rover brands.”

In January Parks’ completed the acquisition of Macrae and Dick, adding 12 dealerships to its portfolio.

The Macrae and Dick acquisition increased Park’s representation of BMW, Jaguar, Land Rover and Honda while introducing new partnerships with Ford, Mazda and Toyota and taking its number of franchise partners to 23.

Established in 1977 as the business expanded into the motor trade following time spent as a coach operator, the company recorded a turnover of £448,014,000 and gross profit of  £61,321,000 in 2014.
