TrustFord is to expand its Long Marston fleet distribution site, which is currently being developed to create a national fleet distribution hub.

The site will expand from seven to 22.5 acres, with a capacity for around 7,000 vehicles.

It is situated at Long Marston Business Park, Stratford-Upon-Avon, is due to be complete by the end of the year, and will open in January.

It will provide a number of improved facilities, including a bodyshop facility and state of the art video and photographic facilities for used vehicles.

Once the expansion of the distribution centre is complete, TrustFord expects to complete 30,000 pre-delivery inspections per year, with a focus on preparing fleet vehicles and distributing them across the UK from the site.

In addition, around 3,000 used commercial vehicles will be refurbished per year at the site for sale through the dealer group’s Transit Centres.

As part of the site’s expansion, an additional 37 jobs will be created, with roles ranging from technicians, panel beaters, drivers, to admin positions in the site’s offices.

The expansion operation has been managed by David Stretton, aftersales manager at TrustFord, with guidance from David Odom, group CV sales manager at TrustFord.

Mark Wilkie, fleet and commercial vehicle director at TrustFord, said: “The expansion of our fleet distribution site in Long Marston is a huge milestone for TrustFord, which represents our commitment to our customers and the local area.

“The newly developed site will offer a total focus on quality across various different aspects of the business.”
