Eastern Western Motor Group has acquired Phoenix Honda’s Stirling site from the Phoenix Car Company.

The new addition expands the group’s representation of the Honda brand to three dealerships, with sites in Edinburgh, Fife and now Stirling.

The dealership will be rebranded as Western Honda and work will get underway to develop a new, purpose-built Honda facility which is expected to open in summer 2018.

Keith Duncan, managing director at Western Honda, commented: “This acquisition is an extremely exciting time for us at Western Honda, not only helping to further cement our relationship with the Honda franchise, but also assisting in our strategy to grow and develop with our existing brand partners in new geographical territories. We look forward to working with Western Honda Stirling.”

Western Honda dealer principal, Bill Mattocks, said: “We look forward to welcoming all the staff from Phoenix Honda and building upon the already strong working relationship we have with them.

“Phoenix Honda’s general manager, Donald Campbell, has been with the brand for the past 12 years and brings a wealth of experience with him. With plans now finalised for a purpose-built Honda facility in Stirling, this really is an exciting time for us; watch this space.”

Stirling Honda’s expansion builds on positive sales following the launch of the all-new Honda Civic and Civic Type R earlier in 2017.

A Civic diesel variant and new Jazz are on the way for 2018.

Western Honda is an approved Honda dealer for the East of Scotland.

In addition to its three showroom sites, the dealership also has a service centre at Newbridge, catering for residents in the west of Edinburgh.
