Cox Automotive is set to continue its series of webinars as Santander Consumer Finance takes to the road with its GDPR Inform & Explain Roadshows in a bid to help car dealers get up-to-speed with GDPR.

Hot on the heels of AM’s own Impact of GDPR conference last month, Cox Automotive's Data Solutions team will run the third in its series of webinars on the subject on March 9.

Ian Inman, head of privacy and data protection at Cox Automotive Data Solutions, highlighted the need for car delares to get up-to-speed. He said: "We know that GDPR is a concern for dealers, but they may not have the time or in-house expertise to dedicate to it, so that's why we've put this series of free webinars."

Cox’s latest webinar will offer insight on data breaches, incident management and mandatory data breach reporting, which is a new area of legislation.

Inman said: "For this session, we'll offer practical tips and insight in to data breech reporting with clear tips and key take outs that dealers can immediately apply.

"We'll also offer practical advice around the softer side of navigating through the legislation including ideas on how to bring processes and procedures in-line with requirements.

"I will also share insider knowledge around what the regulatory body is looking for, what data protection law is and what it's designed to achieve."

SCF is taking to the road in a bid to offer GDPR support and guidance to its car dealer partners via a series of free training roadshows.

Its GDPR Inform & Explain Roadshows will be held in partnership with specialists Hansal International and are designed to provide the information dealers need to help adapt to the launch of the regulation, which takes effect on May 25.

The two-and-a-half hour workshops will be held in the morning and afternoon sessions at seven venues across the country.
