Carbase is opening a new dealership dedicated to new and used commercial vehicles in Bristol, called Vanbase.

It will occupy a 2.2-acre former Jewsons site, which will be redeveloped with a new-purpose built showroom, workshop and forecourt.

The Vanbase store will offer customers a choice of more than 250 nearly new and used vans, for both commercial and domestic use.

Carbase was awarded the Most Improved Dealership award at the 2019 AM Awards, in February.

It will create 25 full and part-time positions in the local community, as well as new training opportunities and vehicle maintenance apprenticeships, in partnership with Weston-super-Mare College.

Steve Winter, managing director of Carbase, said: “As part of the Carbase group, our Vanbase store will embody the company ethos and values of trust, transparency and fairness that personify all of our stores. At Vanbase, we aim to treat our customers how we would want our own friends and family treated, which gives our customers a real sense of security when it comes to buying a used vehicle – regardless of whether that’s a car or a van.”

Vanbase customers will benefit from a range of buyer advantages as part of the standard sales service, including a three-month warranty and 12 months breakdown cover, approved by the RAC. All Vanbase used vans are also part of the RAC BuySure programme.

Optional extras include VAT Assist, service plans, flexible finance options, combined GAP and RTI Insurance and paint protection.

New used van owners can also opt to join the Owner’s Club, which provides up to 10% cashback on parts and service costs, and 50% per cent off annual MOT test fees.

The Vanbase store redevelopment will be starting immediately at Hartcliffe Way, Bristol.
