After excelling in customer service, marketing and vehicle sales, Welsh dealer Nathaniel Cars has collected a global award in China from franchise partner MG.

The Global Five Star Award for Excellence was presented to Nathaniel Cars during the MG Motor International Awards in Shanghai.

It is the third award in as many years for the franchised retailer, which has sites in Cardiff and Bridgend, as it was crowned MG Motor UK Dealer of the Year 2018 and received the Four Star Award for Excellence in 2017.

“Since we joined the MG family in 2015, we’ve almost doubled our annual unit sales by showcasing the exceptional value for money offering that the MG range provides. As a dealer group, we have spent 250 days at off-site events, bringing the MG3 and ZS SUV to the attention of potential customers," said Nathan Griffiths, sales manager at Nathaniel Cars.

He said providing excellent service is a key part of the philosophy at Nathaniel Cars, and his motivation only increased after being diagnosed with cancer - and beating it.

“Being told that I had Non-Hodgkin lymphoma and a 40-percent chance of survival motivated me to make the most of every opportunity presented to me. Once my treatment was over, I threw myself into the MG brand and it’s grown from there.

"We try to keep our offering simple by doing the basics well and focusing on the customer and the vehicles. We’re really excited to continue our relationship with MG and look forward to taking delivery of the ZS EV soon.”

Daniel Gregorious, head of sales and marketing at MG Motor UK, said: “Nathaniel Cars is an outstanding example of a dealership that reflects our values as a manufacturer. Winning the five-star award emphasises their commitment to the brand and their customers, presenting a comprehensive package that offers great affordability whilst not compromising on the experience.

"We’d like to extend our congratulations on behalf of MG Motor UK to the Nathaniel Cars team for their ongoing hard work and dedication.”

The dealership recently played host to the Football Association of Wales to announce MG as the official vehicle partner to the organisation. The event, which saw Wales manager Ryan Giggs and Wales and Everton Midfielder, Angharad James present for the reveal, marked the start of a three-year deal that has seen the Welsh Premier League Cup renamed to the Nathaniel MG Cup.

Nathaniel’s reputation for great service has helped the dealer set the record for selling the most MG3s since the car launched.
