MG Motor UK says it is on track with building a 120-strong dealer network by the end of 2020.

Its latest addition is Cinderford in Gloucestershire, which has had long experience of motor retailing, and is now operating the MG franchise in a standalone site.

David Allington, network development manager at MG Motor UK, said: “As the UK’s fastest-growing car manufacturer, MG is constantly strengthening its support for new and existing customers with its rapidly expanding dealer network.

"By the end of 2020, we will have 120 dealers nationwide and are delighted to add Cinderford MG to our growing portfolio.”

The network is currently at around 92 sites. Much of the expansion has involved small regional dealer groups, although MG also has partnerships with some major AM100 retailers including Arnold Clark, Chorley Group and Richmond Motors.

Bob Morgan, managing director of Cinderford MG, said: “We are delighted to open the doors at our new MG brand premises in Cinderford. The standalone site represents a long-term commitment for our family owned business, and we are excited about the future prospects of representing the MG brand in the region.”

Other recent franchise appointments include Autobase, Desira Group, Tustain Motors, Unity Automotive WLMG,
