Perrys Motor Group has completed its move to a new Kia Motors car showroom facility in Huddersfield.

The AM100 car retail group has moved its franchise from Longley Park to Northgate in order to expand into a larger site with space to offer additional service and MOT bays.

Inside Perrys new Kia Huddersfield dealershipPerrys said that the move also meant that it had been able to consolidate its facilities in a more “prestigious” location shared by other dealerships in its network.

Group managing director, Darren Ardron, told AM about the planned move, which followed the 2020 acquisition of the Longley Park Kia business, in an interview last month.

Denise Millard, executive director at Perrys, said: “We moved our showroom to Northgate to improve the entire customer experience, from COVID-secure sales to expanded and refreshed service and MOT bays.

“It’s been fantastic to be able to retain all staff from the old Longley Park site, while also being able to employ people to fill new jobs – especially during these difficult times.

“We look forward to continuing to serve our customers as best we can, and although that will be predominantly online due to COVID restrictions, when lockdown starts to lift customers and staff can rest assured that their safety remains our top priority.”

Perrys Motor Sales is a franchised car dealer, with its head office in Northampton, operating fifty showrooms at 25 sites across the UK including five Kia dealerships.

Fully refurbished, its new Kia Huddersfield location has retained all its Longley Park staff, while creating new jobs, according to the group.

The Northgate facility is also located closer to town and the railway station.

Although showrooms remain closed due to the ongoing COVID-19 lockdown, the site is operating strict COVID-secure essential servicing and MOTs, while online sales remain available, for Kia vehicles.
