Peter Vardy Group has launched a new car buying service called GoodByeCar, which offers motorists a convenient way to sell unwanted vehicles.

The new initiative, which operates in a similar manner to WeBuyAnyCar, follows the launch of the AM100 dealer group’s online used car supermarket initiative, Carz.

Derek Lyon, remarketing director at the Peter Vardy Group, said: “The demand for pre-owned cars has never been stronger. Recent figures show that people are taking official warnings about public transport seriously and want their own wheels.

“It is a great time to sell, and the Peter Vardy Group undertakes to find customers the fairest price, fast. Not only that, if we can’t beat any like-for-like appraisal quote, we’ll give you £500 in cash.”

GoodByeCar offers customers an online quote and the ability to book an appraisal of their vehicle at their home or a Peter Vardy dealership. If a deal is agreed, the customer can drop the car off of have it collected.

The appraisal service is currently available at Peter Vardy locations in Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Lanarkshire, and Glasgow and will soon be available in Ayr, Stirling and Inverness as the service is rolled out.

It will also support young people in these locations, with the group proposing to take on at least eight Kickstart Colleagues as trainee buyers, all of whom will benefit from a full training, mentoring and support programme.

Group chief executive Peter Vardy said: “We pride ourselves on fairness, transparency and convenience, and this latest service will ensure our customers get the best possible price for their cars as well as enjoying a quick and easy transaction process.”
