Vertu Motors has agreed a two year solus contract with vehicle logistics platform Movex to manage its collection and deliveries and inter-dealership movements.

The collaboration is already six months and 7,000 deliveries into effect, and AM100 top 10 car dealer Vertu expects annual vehicle movements to exceed 30,000 from its 155 sites.

David Crane, chief operating officer at Vertu Motors, said: “We selected Movex as our logistics partner, and we’re very happy with how well things are going.  We are particularly impressed with the real time reporting which has given us a simple, detailed and consolidated view of information, meaning we can spot trends quickly.”

Mark Shearer, director of Movex, which is part of Cox Automotive, said: “We are delighted to have Vertu Motors utilising the Movex platform and taking advantage of our reliability, trust, speed and our easy-to-use app.

"So far, the feedback from Vertu and its dealers has been very positive, and they have benefitted from our user-friendly platform, supported by the Movex team should they need any assistance.”

Vertu, which trades under the Bristol Street, Farnell, Vertu and Macklins brands, recently revealed research into its customers which showed the majority still want to buy cars from showrooms, rather than do it all online and have the car delivered.

In July Vertu upgraded its profits forecast for the six months to the end of August.
