Lookers reopens Nissan Chester dealership after makeover

Lookers has re-opened its Nissan dealership in Chester following £750,000 investment in the Japanese carmaker's new corporate identity (CI).

The site, at Chester’s Sealand Road, has been redesigned following a 12-week refurbishment to accommodate next-generation Nissan cars and vans, including all-electric and hybrid models, and used vehicles.

The dealership incorporates a larger sales floor, digital innovations, additional office space, electric vehicle (EV) chargers, extra customer parking bays and a new facade which includes Nissan’s new corporate brand identity featuring a two-dimensional design.

Dan Mann, general manager at Nissan Chester, said: “Our investment reaffirms our continued dedication to the Chester area, to our customers and staff and our commitment to the quality and innovation of Nissan and the range of best-selling vehicles it produces right here in Britain.”

Lookers said Nissan Chester is among the first of several Nissan dealerships earmarked for fresh investment as part of the company’s plans to amplify the brand locally and revitalise its facilities.

In 2021 Lookers invested £750,000 in its Nissan dealership in Carlisle as part of plans to overhaul the new and used retail experience and aftersales offer.

Steve Eley, Lookers' Nissan franchise director, said: “From the ever-popular Nissan Qashqai and Leaf, a wide range of commercial vehicles, to the hugely anticipated 100% electric Ariya range, Nissan is on a new and exciting journey which we are delighted to be part of and we look forward to accommodating customers old and new in a transformative space designed to inspire.”

The new site was launched during a family fun day which featured tours, test drives and a first-look at the Ariya.

Nissan is currently in the process of rolling out an 'Ideal Network Plan' which will see its number of UK sites reduced from 166 to around 140.
