Norton Way Group managing director Jason Cranswick has confirmed plans to step down from the role to focus studying for more qualifications in coaching and mentoring, as well as writing a book and launching a new podcast.
Cranswick served as chief operating officer at Marubeni Auto Investment (UK), which owns RRG Group and Norton Way Group, since 2021, while also becoming MD of Norton Way just over two years ago.
Norton Way represents Citroen, Honda, Kia, Mazda and Nissan at locations in Letchworth, Brentford and Chiswick.
Reflecting on his time with the business in a post on LinkedIn, Cranswick said: “It has been a privilege to work alongside such talented colleagues and partners and I am incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved together.
"From navigating significant industry shifts to establishing new teams and businesses whilst enhancing the customer experience, the journey has been deeply rewarding.”
In the coming months, Cranswick confirmed he will focus on personal development, undertaking two qualifications: the ILM Level 7 in Executive Coaching & Mentoring and the Non-Executive Director Programme at Cranfield School of Management.
He is also finalising his book on leadership and performance and preparing to launch a new podcast.
“These experiences are broadening my perspective and sharpening my leadership capabilities — all part of a wider commitment to lifelong learning,” he added.
With more than 30 years in the automotive sector, Cranswick said he is now "exploring opportunities across executive leadership, non-executive directorships and advisory or coaching roles".
He concluded: “I leave with nothing but gratitude and admiration for the people I’ve worked with.
"I’m looking ahead with energy and optimism, and I’m excited to continue making a meaningful impact wherever the next opportunity arises.”
Cranswick has been in the motor retail industry since 1989 and in the past 20 years he has held management positions at Volkswagen Group UK, Jardine Motors and Cinch before joining Marubeni in 2022.
