The Ford Fiesta has topped a list of the UK's 'most financed cars' published by Close Brothers Motor Finance - followed by the Ford Focus and the Volkswagen Golf.

There have been more than six million used car transactions and more than 2.2 million new car sales in the UK so far this year and Close Brothers Motor Finance has financed more than 55,000.

Drawing on data compiled from the marketplace, the finance provider has compiled its list of the UK's most financed cars.

The most financed vehicles at Close Brothers Motor Finance in 2018 so far are:

• Ford Focus
• Volkswagen Golf
• Vauxhall Corsa
• Vauxhall Astra
• Land Rover Range Rover
• Mini
• Audi A3
• Nissan Qashqai
• Audi A4

Close Brothers Motor Finance’s director of sales, Sean Kemple, said: “It’s been a year of change in the motor industry, with economic uncertainty exacerbated by Brexit and industry shocks like WLTP hitting dealer bottom lines.

"However, consumer demand remains strong, and dealers are perfectly placed to meet that demand with expertise and good value stock.”
