Paragon Automotive has appointed Jamie Scott as its head of new business and strategy for remarketing.

Scott joins the business from Manheim, where he held a number of senior roles.

He will be responsible for working with manufacturers and fleet operators to improve speed to market, maximise residual values, and protect brand values.

Ian Carlisle, Paragon chief executive, said: “Our ability to remarket from the most optimum point in the supply chain sets us apart. We can begin the remarketing process from de-fleet, and shape our service to add refurbishment and imagery. This will significantly speed up the ability to sell cars earlier and positively impact on residual values.

“This allows us to think creatively about how we handle the process and add value through more efficient remarketing strategies. Jamie brings a wealth of experience to make these efficiencies happen for our customers. We are already trialling a new approach with a manufacturer that is making major reductions in the time between de-fleet and dealer forecourt. “

Paragon says it has plans to grow its remarketing team of six over the coming months. The operation will be based from the company’s site in Upper Heyford, Oxfordshire.

The move follows the company’s recent announcement of £4.7m in structured investments over the next 12 months to build further capacity and drive innovation.
