AM, the prime source of news, insight and best practice information for senior executives in the UK automotive retail sector, has welcomed journalist Tom Sharpe to the team in the newly created role of news and features editor.

Tom will be responsible for commissioning and writing features for the monthly AM magazine, and for writing news on a daily basis for AM-online.

He will also contribute to Independent Dealer, the printed periodical for used car dealers, created by the AM team.

He has joined AM from Regional Media Ltd in Yorkshire, where he was previously deputy news editor and motoring editor of the Rotherham Advertiser, Dearne Valley Weekender and Rotherham Record newspapers.

Tom reports to Tim Rose, AM’s managing editor, who said: “We’re delighted to welcome Tom to AM. He has won awards with his previous publications and with his strong background in news and motoring and his NCTJ qualifications, he will be a valued addition to our editorial team.

"In his first two weeks with us he's already demonstrating his capabilities, with an exclusive story revealing that half of the UK's Citroen network will lose the DS brand."

Part of Bauer Media, AM is focused on serving the UK motor retail industry with high quality business editorial. It publishes the monthly magazine AM, website AM-online and online data portal AMi.

AM is the brand behind major annual automotive industry events including the AM Awards, the AM Executive Breakfast Club and the AM100 analysis of the UK’s largest franchised dealer groups.
