Infiniti has officially announced the appointment of Barry Beeston as its new country director for the UK, with predecessor Carl Bayliss elected as network strategy director at Nissan Motor (GB) Limited.

As previously announced by AM, Beeston will take up his position with the company from May 1st and will be responsible for all Infiniti’s sales and marketing activities in the UK , reporting directly to Francois Goupil de Bouille, vice president of Infiniti Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Beeston moves to Infiniti UK, from Nissan Motor (GB) Ltd., bringing with him a wealth of experience accumulated from working in many different areas of automotive business ranging from aftersales to regional retail sales and most recently corporate fleet sales at a board director level.

Beeston said: “I am very excited to be joining Infiniti at a time the company is recording significant growth, not only in the UK but across the world.

“The introduction of the British built Q30 earlier this year, and the soon to arrive QX30, are game changers for the company.

“They provide a stylish active compact into a segment where there is a high potential for increased sales.

“Alongside these, further new products are arriving, such as the stunning looking Q60 coupe, due later this year with its new 400hp V6 engine.”

Beeston said that the growth of the Infiniti brand would bring “new challenges”.

He added: “We clearly need to expand our centre network, ensuring our customers continue to receive high levels of service as our volume grows.

“We also need to further develop an internal infrastructure to support both retail and fleet sales channels. I am seriously looking forward to beginning this new challenge with Infiniti- there’s a lot to be excited about.”

In February AM reported that Infiniti planned to expand its current network from 10 to 25 outlets in the next 18 months as the brand aims to double year-on-year sales.

The Japanese premium brand has introduced pop-up showrooms to fast-track the expansion process.
