Wakefield-based The Car Buying Group has appointed Darren Kennedy as its general manager.

The company offers consumers the option of dropping their vehicle in directly to its business on Denby Dale Road or having it collected before receiving an immediate payment.

Kennedy’s appointment follows on from the business receiving a multi-million investment from franchised dealer Greenhous Group in February this year.

He joins from The Car Buying Service and he previously worked at CAP Motor Research. Kennedy’s role covers the management of the team, car valuation and customer service management. He will also support the company with staff development and training.

He said: “The culture is what most attracted me to the company and we are very much a team of ‘people-people’.

“You can’t train someone to be passionate, honest or to have integrity, so we recruit people with those values and develop all the rest of the skills required.”

Tom Marley, The Car Buying Group founder, said: “Following our significant investment, we’ve expanded quickly and everybody in the business makes a difference and has an important role to play.

“Darren’s ability to mentor the team and share his knowledge and experience will support the further growth of the business."
