The Scottish Motor Trade Association has appointed Graham Greenwood to its executive board as vice president.

Greenwood will serve in this position until June 2017 when he will stand to replace current SMTA President, Colin McGeoch.

Sandy Burgess, chief executive of the SMTA, said: "It is fantastic that Graham has accepted this role with the SMTA at this critical time in our development.

“Having someone who has both the experience and enthusiasm to step into Colin's shoes for the future is great for the staff, our members and business partners alike."

Greenwood, the former owner of Newmarket Garage started his career with a three year automotive management diploma at Napier College/Stevenson College, before gaining extensive experience with Carmichael Baxter in Edinburgh with Austin Rover, Jaguar, Rolls Royce and Land Rover.
