A dedicated member of staff at Jennings Motor Group has been rewarded for his three-decade loyalty achievement.

Martyn Tinmouth, from Hutton Henry in County Durham, works as a warranty administrator within the service department at the Jennings Ford Direct dealership based on Newcastle Road in South Shields.

His career in the motor industry began at the age of 17 when he embarked on a three-year Apprenticeship programme and his initial goal was to become a qualified mechanic.

Following completion of his Apprenticeship, Martyn spent an additional two years studying towards a higher tech certificate at the former Wearside College in Sunderland.

Tinmouth said; “I always liked messing around under the bonnet of cars and enjoyed learning about all of the different parts and how they worked.  When the time came to leave school, I knew it just had to be motor related.”

It was in 1987 when Tinmouth decided he wanted to exchange his overalls for a shirt and tie to take on a more customer-facing role as a service receptionist and started working at the Jennings Ford Direct dealership.

As warranty administrator, Martyn is responsible for submitting warranty claims to Ford Motor Company and liaising with individual customers in order to keep them up-to-speed throughout the claims process.

To mark the three-decade loyalty achievement, group service and bodyshop manager, Brian Johnston, presented him with his loyalty certificate and vouchers.

Johnston said; “It was an absolute pleasure presenting Martyn with his well-deserved loyalty vouchers.  I have worked closely with him over the past 30 years and he has always been a dedicated, conscientious and highly professional member of the service team at South Shields.”
