A workshop controller at Jennings Ford has been rewarded with holiday vouchers for clocking up 45 years’ service.

Paul Barker, 60, from Eaglescliffe in Stockton, has been presented with a certificate and holiday vouchers for his continued loyalty.

His career in the motor industry began straight from school when he embarked on a five-year Apprenticeship programme at the Stockton-based dealership, formerly known as Oxbridge, prior to Jennings Ford taking over the branch in 1984.

“Working in the motor industry is all I’ve ever done since leaving school and completing my Apprenticeship.  I have made many friends over the years and it’s always been a good place to work, so there’s been no reason to look for alternative employment,” said Barker.

The dealer group rewards members of its 524-strong workforce after 15 years of continuous service, then after every five years. Paul is one of 28 employees across the group who will receive rewards throughout 2017 for a combined 690 years of loyalty.
