Marcus Eckermann is joining Porsche Cars GB and Porsche Retail Group as managing director, replacing Alexander Pollich.

Having spent 10 years as managing director of Porsche Central and Eastern Europe, where he oversaw a tripling of the region's retail performance, Eckermann will lead the company through the launch of its first electric car, the Taycan.

Pollich is stepping up to the role of managing director at Porsche Deutschland.

"I am sorry to be leaving Porsche Cars GB and Porsche Retail Group – especially so soon – and appreciate the faith the Porsche AG board of management has placed in me, in asking me to step up to the CEO position at Porsche Deutschland," said Pollich.

"My colleagues at Porsche Cars GB, Porsche Retail Group and the network of Porsche Centres have consistently demonstrated why they are regarded at Porsche AG as being among the very best.

"I have learned a great deal in the six short months I have led the business - it will continue to thrive under the exemplary leadership of Marcus Eckermann."

Eckermann, who has worked for Porsche since 1997, added: “I’m very much looking forward to getting started. While I have enjoyed my time at Porsche Central & Eastern Europe immensely, I am excited to be taking up a new challenge and a new position in the UK.

"I will be working with incredible new cars and joining a highly regarded and committed team of Porsche enthusiasts at Porsche Cars GB, at Porsche Retail Group and the Porsche Centre network who share my passion for sports cars and the determination to exceed expectations.”
