Audi UK has appointed Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles’ Claire English as its new head of fleet.

In a move that coincides with the expansion of the German premium brand’s e-tron electric vehicle (EV) model range, English joins from the equivalent roles at VWCV and replaces James Buxton, who will be leaving the business.

English will take up the role of head of fleet from July 12.

Andrew Doyle, Director of Audi UK, said: “We are delighted to welcome someone of Claire’s expertise to the team.

“At a time when we begin to dramatically expand our line-up of fully electric e-tron models, Claire’s wealth of operational fleet knowledge and focus on customer experience will ensure that she is a very strong asset to the business, and our top management team.”

Audi UK said that English comes to the role with 21 years of industry experience.

She joined Volkswagen Group UK as a Graduate in 2003 following a period as a fleet sales executive in the retail network.

English has held a number of roles across the group and has built up expertise in fleet during periods as an area and regional fleet sales manager, business development manager and as the national contract hire and leasing manager in Volkswagen.
