Motorway, the UK used car marketplace, has appointed Liz Kistruck, a former director at Expedia, as the company’s first chief financial officer (CFO).

Kistruck joins from fashion technology platform Lyst, where she was CFO.

Prior to Lyst, Kistruck was at Expedia Group for 14 years and held various roles including CFO for Hotels.com, CFO for Expedia for Business, as well as senior vice president of global marketing analytics.

In these roles, she led large, multinational teams through significant growth and transformation.

Motorway said Kistruck brings the perfect blend of experience, having led expansion at both world-leading internet companies and smaller start ups.

Tom Leathes, Motorway co-founder and chief executive Motorway, said: “We’re thrilled to have Liz join the executive team at Motorway.

“We’re at a pivotal stage in our growth and Liz’s highly relevant marketplace and public markets experience, strong values and focused approach make her the perfect person for this role. I look forward to working closely with Liz to help shape the future of the business going forward.”

Kistruck added: “Motorway’s sustained growth over the past few years is truly impressive and I’m excited to join the team at such an important stage in the journey.

“Working with Tom and the rest of the management team, I’m looking forward to being part of leading Motorway on the next phase of its expansion.”

Motorway saw its sales more than double year on year from £841m in 2021 to £1.7bn in 2022.

Motorway’s service matches people selling their car with car dealers looking to acquire stock.

The company said that “by removing the middlemen and bringing the process online, the platform delivers a better deal for both sides, with a more efficient experience, driven by technology”.
