Aston Barclay is in the process of appointing contractors to extend its Press Heath auction operation by 6.5 acres to extend its a capacity after securing a new remarketing deal with Santander Consumer Finance.

Prees Heath has signed a three-year remarketing contract from Santander Consumer Finance after its sales achieved 100% conversion rates on all stock entered into the Shropshire auction during 2018.

Contractors are now being appointed to liberate greater capacity at the location, following Shropshire Council’s approval of the plans to more than double the its size.

Aston Barclay’s group operations director, Martin Potter, said: “We’re pleased our 100% conversion rate has been recognised by Santander awarding us with a new contract.

"Having our 12.5-acre site becoming reality over the next 12 months comes at the right time to accommodate extra vendor volume.”

Santander will continue to use the Prees Heath Wednesday fleet sale to benchmark prices and market demand for its used stock.

Stock volumes will increase during the contract as Santander’s motor finance and personal leasing business continues to grow.

Santander Consumer Finance’s head of arrears management, Shaun Deacon, said: “Our monthly sale programme at Prees has gone exceptionally well.

"Prees has achieved a 100% conversion on our stock and the customer service levels we have received and buyer interest in our used cars has been first class.”
