Ford reveals larger Fiesta

No information available.

##FiestaNew--right##Ford today released the first details of the all-new Fiesta which debuts at next month's Frankfurt motor show. Sales in the UK and other European countries start next spring.

Because the London Motor Show was cancelled after carmakers refused to exhibit, new Fiesta will be seen first in the UK at November's Scottish Motor Show. The model is longer, wider and taller than its predecessor. More than 2.5m new Fiestas have been sold in the UK and, to the end of July, it remained the biggest-selling small car, ahead of the Vauxhall Corsa. New Fiesta will be assembled at Cologne (Germany) and Valencia (Spain). Fiesta assembly is ending at Ford's Dagenham, east London, which is to be converted to diesel engine production. Ford will introduce the latest Fiesta as a 5dr, with 3dr variants following in the autumn of next year. The model has an extra 14% of luggage space, larger rear doors than before and extra rear knee room. Three new engines will be in the range: 1.4-litre turbodiesel (62.8mpg overall in the official fuel economy figures), 1.4-litre, 80bhp and 100bhp double overhead camshaft engine and 1.3-litre 8-valve engine (48.7mpg overall).
