Chrysler has opened its UK order books for the Sebring Cabrio - a left-hand-drive-only four-seater convertible powered by a 200bhp 2.7-litre V6 petrol engine.

Priced at £22,995 on-the-road, just 50 examples of the world's best-selling convertible (pictured below) will be available here. Specification includes air conditioning, cruise control, six-way power driver's seat, power assisted steering, electric windows, remote control central locking, full leather trim, 16-inch alloy wheels, CD player and a 150-watt sound system.

The soft-top's arrival will mark the completion a range renewal programme that started less than two years ago with the second generation Neon saloon, was followed by the PT Cruiser, and which continued this year with the launch of a new Voyager MPV.

There are no plans to produce a right-hand-drive version.

Simon Elliott, director of Chrysler and Jeep in the UK, said: “We felt that UK motorists should not be denied access to what surely must be the most beautiful and practical four-seater convertible on sale anywhere in the world. We are delighted to make limited numbers of this car available and we already know from advance interest that it will be a great success here.”
