Review

The combination of a new model, new engines and a boosted scrappage offering from Mazda make the new Mazda3 attractive to motorists looking for an alternative to the mainstream lower medium car such as the Ford Focus, Vauxhall Astra and Volkswagen Golf.

The 1.6 (109PS) diesel is a new addition to the range. It emits 119g/km, down from 128g/km, road tax is £35 per year and it falls into insurance group 5E.

Combined mpg is 62.8. Mazda is contributing an extra £1,000 under the scrappage scheme bringing customer savings to £3,000. It is also offering a range of finance offers.
