GM subsidiary Vauxhall revealed a simplified sales and marketing structure on the eve of the announcement of the Fiat deal.

Vauxhall will strengthen its e-commerce team with the appointment of David Poole, former aftersales director, as director, strategic planning. He will be responsible for new business initiatives, such as the internet programme. Ian Coomber, former sales and marketing director, will head the new division in a role which effectively gives him control of all Vauxhall commercial activity.

The company is also restructuring its sales and marketing operations in order to create a single, unified structure. The new organisation will combine new car operations, used cars, Network Q and aftersales.
