Sutton Park Motor has acquired the Renault hub for the Coventry region after paying £1.6m for three Ryland Group dealerships.

The main outlets – Coventry, Warwick and Rugby – add to Sutton Parks' Renault showrooms in Sutton Coldfield and Burton-upon-Trent.

Dean Fulton, who founded Sutton Park, said: “This is a major investment – we have long-term aspirations for these new dealerships.”

He said the expanded company would combine elements of a modern dealership with the traditions of a family-orientated business. Staff have been retained.

Former Renault Retail Group manager David Addy will head the Warwick and Rugby dealerships.

A Renault spokesman confirmed the Sutton Park move was part of its hub strategy. However, it would not be shared with Nissan, which “plans to do its own thing” in the West Midlands.

“We are continuing to put hubs in place around the country as part of our ongoing strategy,” he added.
