Pathlore Software Corporation and John Matchett Ltd. (JML), Pathlore's European distributor, have announced that DaimlerChrysler UK will use the Ohio firm's learning-management system (LMS) to support the UK retailer network. With the Pathlore LMS, DCUK's 360 owned and franchised retailers can view training courses, book places and track individual training histories via an Intranet for the first time.

DCUK Dealer Training and Development (T&D) employs 40 people and is part of the company's Network Development Division. T&D provides, along with a group of contractors, technical and business skills training to a dealer network of around 12,000 staff as well as to customers. The department delivers over 25,000 delegate training days per year from a portfolio of more than 200 courses, including technical training, sales skills, product knowledge and driver training.

"We chose Pathlore's LMS and the JML approach because of the support that the team could give us, and the speed of implementation," said Brian Snowdon, training operations specialist for DaimlerChrysler UK. "We started the project in March 2003 and went operational with online servicing by September 2003."

Pathlore Software and JML are currently working on a program to enable DCUK to provide assessments online to the dealer network. "Product knowledge assessments and a 360-degree review process form part of our new sales certification programme called C-Sales," said Helen Stewart, DCUK Business Skills Training manager. "The system provided by Pathlore and JML will enable us to keep track of the gaps in skills and help us to provide training when and where it is necessary."

Pathlore also supplies web-based training systems to BMW Great Britain and Nissan Europe.
