Nidd Vale Group, the AM100-listed retailer, is ploughing more than £600,000 into four Yorkshire dealerships. The company, bought by its management last year, is upgrading the Harrogate and Wetherby dealerships, and has bought a new storage site.

Work is nearing completion at Sandbeck Motors in Wetherby on a £150,000 refurbishment. A larger entrance is being created and the exterior will feature Vauxhall's new red, white and silver corporate identity. The interior has larger offices and enhanced reception.

The name of the business is also being changed to Nidd Vale Wetherby. “Sandbeck Motors has been part of the Nidd Vale business since 1997 and, with the major improvements being made, we feel the time is now right to make the name change,” says Colin Hainstock, chairman and managing director of Nidd Vale.

At the group's Harrogate showroom on Nidd Vale Corner, a further £200,000 will be spent on upgrading the Saab showroom and offices so they meet the manufacturer's new standards. External development has already created spaces for 35 additional used cars.

Finally, Nidd Vale's new Mazda franchise is to have a £150,000 corporate identity renovation. Combined with the group's £100,000 acquisition and development of a storage site at Follifoot, Nidd Vale has invested more than £600,000 to improve key aspects of its business.
