Jaguar has been voted the top brand in car manufacturing in the UK at the annual independent Superbrands awards. The achievement has also listed the Ford-owned company as the only carmaker among the top six of all brands in the country.

The Superbrands council, comprising directors of leading financial and commercial organisations, judged Jaguar on market dominance, longevity, overall market acceptance and customer loyalty.

The panel also voted it the brand consumers would most like to work for and the one customers would miss most if it was no longer around.

David Lewis, Jaguar marketing manager for the UK, regards the award as a particular indication of the ability of the comp-any to retain its core brand values through its transition into new market segments. “The sense of pride, passion, aspiration and heritage which has always been attached to our name is vital to our customers and to us,” he says.
