Mitsubishi Motors Corporation has appointed Tim Tozer as President and CEO of its Amsterdam-based subsidiary Mitsubishi Motors Europe B.V. (MME), effective September 1, 2004.

Mr. Tozer (44) has held senior positions in Europe with, amongst others, Mazda and Chrysler. He joins from Mondial Assistance (UK) Limited.

In his new role, Tozer will lead MME through the second phase of its Turnaround Plan. As such, he will build upon the positive trading results already delivered by the company, which includes the first sales increase since 1999 (207,939 units), a return to profitability a year ahead of schedule and the first profit ever in the region, since the start of European operations in 1974.

Tozer says: “My job will be to consolidate the recent successes and then grow the business, in conjunction with the team in Amsterdam, distributors, dealers and suppliers, for the benefit of customers in 36 countries. As such, we will contribute to MMC´s revitalization.”
