New car registrations in Scotland reached 19,548 in June, a decrease of 4.77% in comparison with the same month last year when 20,528 units were sold.

A Scottish Motor Trade Association spokesperson said: “Again, we are not surprised to see a small decrease in new car registrations across Scotland. However, the market does appear to be settling down and we continue to look forward to another good year for new car registrations.

“We are confident that the market will remain strong as consumers have so many great deals to choose from at the moment with many SMTA franchised dealers offering low deposits, interest free credit and much more on a range of new models.”
