Kia has launched its Zapp! derivative for its Rio, Cerato and Picanto models.

The Rio Zapp! is priced at £7,495 and comes with a 1.4 litre petrol engine. Standard equipment includes air-conditioning, CD audio system with MP3 player, ABS with EBD, twin airbags, engine immobiliser and power steering. The Rio Zapp! is priced £1,000 below the GS derivative and also comes with one year’s free insurance.

Paul Williams, managing director of Kia Motors UK, said: "The Rio Zapp! is a special edition that gives car buyers a financial leg up from being able to just afford a cramped small car to actually buying a versatile family car.

"The Zapp! special editions stem from the popularity of the Picanto Zapp! which is back in showrooms at £5,995 with one year’s free insurance. The Cerato is also joining the Zap line-up."

The 1.6 litre petrol Cerato Zapp! is priced at £9,995 and includes air conditioning, 15-inch alloy wheels and remote central locking.

  • All of Kia’s offers on the Zapp! range end on June 30.
