Michelin boss dies in accident

Michelin chairman Edouard Michelin has died in a fishing accident off the coast of Brittany.

Michelin was on holiday at the time of the accident.

Michel Rollier, managing partner of the Michelin Group, issued the following statement: "The tragic death on Friday of Mr Édouard Michelin is a trauma for all of us. My most profound thoughts are for his wife and their children and to François Michelin, who was very close to him."

Rollier has taken over full responsibilities as the head of Michelin.
